Welcome to Bella Grande - a classic boutique hotel in the heart of Copenhagen, just a few steps from The City Hall Square. Situated in a historic building where travelers have set foot since 1899, Bella Grande is a timeless yet contemporary hotel where nostalgic charm meets modern sophistication.

To capture the feel of this new place, we went to the building while it was a big building site, to capture details of the old building to bring into the UI of the site. All this became the foundation for the look and brand feel.

The site is simple, but we feel it captures the italian vintage feel in beautiful marriage with Danish classic minimalism. The small design details and smooth transitions makes up the experience.

It's all about the feeling

Capturing the hotel experience can be challenging when it's still in the early stages of construction. However, early access to fabrics, color palettes, and close examination of architectural details provided valuable inspiration.

What did Spring/Summer create for Hotel Bella Grande?

Spring/Summer designed and developed the digital home for Hotel Bella Grande, launched in 2024 on Craft CMS. We led strategy, structure, design, and development for the new boutique hotel by Cofoco, building a site that captures the feel of the property before its guests ever arrive.

What technology powers the Hotel Bella Grande site?

The Hotel Bella Grande site runs on Craft CMS, on the same Cofoco family platform that supports Coco Hotel, Cofoco, Les Trois Cochons, and more. Craft gives the Cofoco team editorial control across the group while keeping each property's identity distinct, and lets rooms, restaurant offerings, and stories evolve without engineering support.

What was the brief Spring/Summer was given?

Hotel Bella Grande is a new boutique hotel in a historic 1899 building near Copenhagen's City Hall Square, part of the Cofoco group. The brief was to capture the feel of the property, an Italian vintage warmth married with Danish classic minimalism, while the building itself was still under construction, so guests could feel the atmosphere before opening day.

What design and strategic decisions shaped the project?

We visited the working construction site to gather architectural detail, fabric swatches, and colour-palette references that fed the UI. The design is deliberately simple, carried by small details and smooth transitions, so the brand foundation reads as an extension of the physical building rather than a marketing layer on top. It sits in the same Cofoco family system, so guests moving between properties feel the family.

What was the outcome of the Nationalmuseet launch?

The site launched in 2024 alongside the hotel opening, giving Bella Grande a digital front door that carries the Italian vintage x Danish minimalism atmosphere from the first click.
