Lightweight and nimble

We chose to build the site in Webflow and by that, cutting build time and moving focus towards the small details that makes it all come together. The content needed room to stand out, but we created a few signature elements on the site, like the hover state with two axis, and the page transitions.

Spring/Summer designed and developed the new portfolio website for Soren Rose Studio, launched in 2022 on Webflow. We led concept, design, and development for the multidisciplinary design studio, building a tailored portfolio site that gives the studio's product, furniture, and bespoke work room to breathe.

What technology powers the Soren Rose Studio site?

The Soren Rose Studio site runs on Webflow. We chose Webflow to compress build time and put the design and animation craft in the foreground, rather than the underlying stack. It gives the studio a fast, flexible platform to keep the portfolio evolving as new products and bespoke projects land, without needing engineering to publish a new case.

What was the brief Spring/Summer was given?

Soren Rose Studio has more than a decade of experience designing products, furniture, and bespoke projects for international clients. The brief was a portfolio site that gives the work room to stand out, with signature moments that reflect the studio's tactile craft, and enough restraint to let the projects, not the interface, do the talking.

What design and strategic decisions shaped the project?

We designed the site around the work: generous spacing, a considered typographic system, and image-first case pages. Signature interactions carry the studio's craft into the browser: a two-axis hover state on portfolio grids, and custom page transitions that give the site a distinct feel from the first click. The result is a portfolio that reads as tactile and slow, in a good way.

What was the outcome of the Soren Rose Studio launch?

The site launched in 2022 as Soren Rose Studio's new digital portfolio. The project went on to win Awwwards Site of the Day, the Awwwards Developer Award, two Creative Circle Silver awards, and a Webby Awards Honorable Mention. More importantly, it gives the studio a digital home that matches the level of craft they bring to physical products and interior projects.
