Unique Products and Stories

When we set out to redesign the website for Berlin-based concept store Andreas Murkudis, we knew we had to stay on our toes. Andreas is a master of curation, known for his commitment to the brands he likes. Andreas and his team wanted to open up their universe and share the stories and products that flow through the stores. We agreed that the experience should have a trademark edge to it without outshining the content.

We activated the handdrawn identity to set the scene whenever a page is loading. The logo and layout reorder themselves to indicate which section of the site is active. Content was provided by Moon International who commissioned us to work on the project.

One-Off Auctions

As part of the launch PR strategy, the site auctioned away a number of unique items from Andreas Murkudis's personal collection. The items spanned rare books, leather gloves, 90s fashion show invites and more, and this created a lot of attention and press.

An Editorial Experience

The Andreas Murkudis brand also creates long-form stories about collaborations and currents in fashion and design. We knew this content had to live on the site, so we created a flexible, modular backend to build longer pages with dynamic layouts. This lets editors define the right mood and visual balance when telling the brand’s stories, and even connect them to products on sale.

We built the site as a fully responsive CMS solution on Wordpress with WooCommerce driving the auctions. Once the auctions expire, WooCommerce will be used to launch a full-fledged online shop with selected products from the stores. The site was launched Spring 2017.
